Overview

After researching, we were unable to locate the building code adoption ordinance. Fredericksburg, VA falls under the jurisdiction of the state of Virginia which adopts the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) (based upon the ICC body of codes). Va. Code Ann. § 36-105.

Effective 09/04/2018, the state of Virginia adopted the following codes:

Chapter 11 of the 2015 VEBC provides retrofit regulations.

Appendix J of the 2015 IRC was not included in the 2015 VRC.
